High Performance Camp
High Performance Camp - Aug 10-14
This is THE main high performance camp of the summer in BC.
Led by Olympic Champion, Eric Boisse, Designed for competitive fencers between the ages of 11-17, this program goes beyond technical training to focus on what truly impacts performance: decision-making, confidence, and tactical control.
Most athletes don’t struggle because of technique; they struggle because they don’t know when to act, how to adapt, or how to manage pressure.
At Apex, we address the key performance gaps:
- Building confidence in attack (committing with clarity and intent)
- Managing the score (understanding how to fence when leading or trailing)
- Adapting strategy (recognising and adjusting to different opponent styles)
This camp is structured as a progressive learning experience, where each day builds on the previous one. Athletes will not only train, but develop a deeper understanding of their fencing. What athletes will work on:
- Technical refinement (footwork, distance, timing) - Tactical decision-making and opponent analysis
- Structured bout situations (score-based scenarios) - Video analysis and guided feedback
- Physical preparation (speed, coordination, explosiveness) - Mental performance (focus, confidence, resilience)
Important
This is not a drop-in program.
Full attendance is required, as the camp follows a structured progression.
