Fencing Coach – Apex Fencing Academy

Part Time and Full Positions Available

Apex Fencing Academy is a locally owned fencing club in Port Moody, BC founded by Olympic-level athletes with a mission to build confidence, discipline, and community through the sport of fencing. We offer classes for kids, teens, and adults ranging from beginner to high-performance levels and are looking for a motivated coach(es) to join our growing team.

We welcome applicants who are seeking part-time, full time, coach-athlete roles or motivated student coaches.

Responsibilities

• Coach beginner, intermediate, and/or assisting with competitive fencing classes

• Lead engaging and structured group lessons for youth and adults

• Assist with or lead private lessons depending on experience

• Help organize and run camps, events, and club activities

• Foster a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented environment

• Support athlete development and encourage sportsmanship

• Work collaboratively with the Apex coaching team

Qualifications

• Specialization in either Sabre or Epee preferred'; ability to teach basic foil is an asset

• Experience coaching or competing in fencing

• Bilingual (French & English) strongly preferred to help develop our expanding francophone programs and school programs.

• Comfortable coaching children, teens, and adults

• Ability to work evenings and weekends

• Strong communication and leadership skills

• Self-motivated and able to take initiative

• Team-oriented and aligned with the values of Apex Fencing Academy

• NCCP certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Requirements

• Criminal background check (or willingness to complete one)

• Basic First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Legal ability to work in Canada

Compensation

Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
